Jobs at the Library

The Western Manitoba Regional Library (WMRL) has a staff of 30 individuals in its five branches.  Positions include Librarian, Administrative Assistant, Branch Supervisor, Library Assistant and Student Assistant.  When we are looking for individuals to join our staff, vacant positions will be posted here and they may also be advertised in external print and online resources. 

Current Opportunities:

Library Assistant - Public Services - Brandon Public Library 

Duties will include:

  • general circulation and patron assistance
  • assisting with the creation of in-library displays
  • assisting with programming
  • assisting patrons access eResources such as eLibraries Manitoba and Hoopla

Qualifications include:  Minimum of Grade 12, effective people and communication skill, intermediate computer and internet skills, attentive to detail, thorough and accurate work habbits, ability to work independently and as part of a team

Position One:  Shifts include three full days per week on an alternating schedule (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)

Position Two: Shifts include a 10-5 shift on Mondays, a 10-2 shift on alternating Wednesdays, and a 10-2 shift on Saturdays.

Library Assistant - Public Services - Neepawa Public Library

Duties will include:
 
general circulation and patron assistance
assisting with the creation of in-library displays
assisting with and/or facilitating programs
assisting patrons access eResources such as eLibraries Manitoba and Hoopla
Qualifications include:  Minimum of Grade 12, effective people and communication skill, intermediate computer and internet skills, attentive to detail, thorough and accurate work habbits, ability to work independently and as part of a team
 
Shifts include a 10:00-5:30 PM shift on Mondays, a 12:00-7:00 PM shift on Thursdays, and a 10:00-5:30 PM shift on Fridays for a total of 19 hours per week.
