Adult Creative Writing

Author Reading with Lenora Buffi

Westman author Lenora Buffi presents her recent historical novel, Vista.

In a world facing natural disasters, social upheaval and racial tensions, Vista deals with topics of class, religion, philosophy, and education. Buffi will speak about her inspiration for the novel and her writing process. Refreshments will be provided, and everyone is welcome.

Mother's Day Tea

Moms and their daughters/sons ages 4-8 (no younger siblings please)

Baby Time Registration

Baby Time is for babies ages 0-18 months of age and their parent/caregiver.

The program includes 20-30 minutes of active rhymes.  After the program you are welcome to stay to read, socialize, and play.

Please bring a blanket for baby to play on.

Please register in advance.

Registration begins on Monday, April 9 @ 10:00 AM.

The session will run Tuesday mornings from 10:15-10:45 on May 8, 15, 22, 29.

Non-Fiction Book Club

The first selection for the Non-Fiction Book Club is Alfred Lansing's Endurance.

Alfred Langsing's book is the harrowing account of Shackleton's voyage, and the strength and endurance of every man of his crew in their struggle for survival.

At the first meeting, we'll pick the next two books as a group.  Copies of the books will be provided by the Library.

Earth Day with Miss Bee

Join us for an Earth Day themed celebration with children's performer Miss Bee.  Children ages 5-8 are invited to a program featuring environment-themed songs and stories, followed by crafts from recycled materials.  Each participant will go home with his/her own seed to start their own garden.

English Language Conversation Group (EAL)

This is a free program for English learners who want to improve their English conversational skills. Chat with native English speakers and other learners to improve pronunciation, vocabulary, listening, and confidence. 
 
We'll meet from 2:30 to 4:00 pm every Saturday in March and April to discuss a different topic each week. The program is open to everyone 18 years and older. All levels of English are welcome. The fourth Saturday of every month, the Brandon Public Library is thrilled to offer SCIENCE SATURDAYS: hands-on science programming for children ages 5 - 12. Facilitated by Brandon University's Let's Talk Science team, Science Saturdays are entirely free, entirely hands-on, and entirely fun.
 
Ages 9-12 will meet from 11:30 - 12:30 in the Library Program Room.
