Neepawa Library is located downtown in the beautiful town of Neepawa, which is found at the junction of the scenic Yellowhead Highway and Parks Route, Highway #5. Only 50 minutes North of Brandon, Neepawa has a growing population of 3,700, is home to the historic Margaret Laurence Home and one of the finest golf courses in the province.
The Library’s collection is continuously growing and changing to meet the needs of patrons – in addition to books and magazines we also offer a selection of audio books and DVDs for adults and children as well as access to various eResources. Public Internet is available on several public computers.

Several times a year Neepawa Library presents local and visiting authors to discuss their new books, enrich us with their ideas and to challenge our assumptions. We enjoy their energy and passion for the written word as well as the new ideas they offer to us as readers and aspiring authors.

Business and non-profit community groups have access to a public meeting room which is available for meetings and private events during and outside of library hours.

Neepawa Library has been a member of the WMRL since 1968 and moved to the present location in 1996. A Local Advisory Board ensures the interests of the community are reflected in the collection and the activities of the Library.

Resolution for the New Year

December 22, 2017
Now that the new year is approaching and we’re all thinking about our goals for 2018, how about resolving to read a few more books this year? And the best way to know if you are actually reading or listening to more books is to track your reading.

December at your Library

Aaah, December is here! Sparkly decorations, house lights and snow on the ground turn our attention to the season of celebrating the people who give us joy. Whether it’s a gift of companionship, food, a warm handcrafted item, or simply the beginning of a new tradition, there’s still lots of time to make plans for this year.  If you are looking for inspiration, Neepawa Library has craft and recipe books, as well as magazines with seasonal issues on our shelves.

Summer was busy at Neepawa Library, where we celebrated all things Canada in honour of our country’s sesquicentennial. Young readers borrowed many, many books and read many, many pages! They will have a definite advantage starting school this fall as their eager brains are still primed from all the reading they did this summer. Congratulations to everyone who participated in our Summer Reading Program! And a big Thank you!

Library Update

Calling all summer readers!
Neepawa Library has lots of reading options for this summer, whether you want some fun picture books for your young readers or a little light fiction for the beach.
Summer Reading Club is well underway and runs all summer.  The theme this year is Canada and the program is for all ages, from those who still need a little help to read to those who are reading on their own, including teens.

Have you thought about the many ways your local tax dollars work for you? Apart from improving town infrastructure and building a much-needed new firehall, there’s a lot of other services available to Neepawa residents that don’t get much public discussion. Among them is the Neepawa Public Library.
