The Brandon Public Library is pleased to announce that we will soon be able to serve our community from an additional location within the Shoppers Mall!
The Brandon Public Library will continue to operate out of our current location in the downtown area, but come May 2020, we will also be able to serve you at a second spot within the Shoppers Mall!
We are thrilled to have this opportunity and hope to engage with some new faces (in addition to familiar ones) while providing library services in Brandon’s bustling south end. Our mall location will showcase new books and offer access to all of our regular services, including the ability to sign up for a membership (free to residents of Brandon), to sign out books, to place and pick up holds, to attend public programs, and more!
We hope that you will share in our enthusiasm during this exciting time and look forward to seeing you at the beginning of May!

Creative Writing Group
The Creative Writing Group is a drop-in program that meets bi-weekly at the Carberry North Cypress Library. The focus of the group is to help participants improve their creative writing skills, and share their work in a friendly social setting. All skill levels and styles of writers are encouraged to join. The group will explore a range of writing topics, be given prompts to write about, and share their work with the rest of the group. This is a great program for those wanting to do more writing, or share their work with others. This program is open to anyone age 13 and older.
No registration is required, for more information contact carson@wmrl.ca or call 204-834-3043

The Glenboro/South Cypress Library is starting their monthly "Tot Tales" on March 19th, 2020 for all tots and their caregivers to attend. This is a great time to learn with your child, meet other caregivers and have fun!
The Glenboro/South Cypress Library hosted a Karate Demonstration evening on February 20th. Matthew Major taught some karate techniques to a large, eager group of students, and discussed his experience with karate. He entertained the crowd with a demonstration of his routine that he perfected to achieve his black belt.

Our March displays feature Irish authors and Ireland.
March 11, we're hosting Ken Storie of the Turtle Mountain-Souris Plains Heritage Association. He will be presenting a DVD “Turtle Mountain Mud” Manitoba’s Coal Mines, followed by a question and answer session and refreshments. It will take place from 2:00-4:00 pm in the library. This informative DVD tells the true story of two competing coal mines that provided employment, cheaper coal and an enduring story near the village of Goodlands, on the western edge of Turtle Mountain, in the heart of the Great Depression. Everyone is welcome to this presentation.
