Library Reopening Plan

WMRL Branch Reopenings

July 2, 2020

We are pleased to announce that all branches of the Western Manitoba Regional Library are now moving towards a full reopening. Some restrictions are in place, and some of our branches are currently operating at reduced hours. We will be adjusting – and hopefully expanding – our services as time goes on, in accordance with global health realities. Below is the reopening information for each of our branches. Please contact our Brandon Downtown branch at 204-727-6648, or by email info@nullwmrl.ca at any time for clarification or for more information.

Shoppers Mall:

Hours of operation: Monday to Saturday, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm

Services provided:

  • Browsing the collection and checking out materials
  • Picking up items on hold
  • Returning borrowed items
  • Registering for a library account, or receiving assistance with an existing account
  • Receiving assistance with eResources (eg. Libby, Hoopla, etc.)

Restrictions:

  • Limited access to the space
  • Limited access to the space
  • No public seating, public computer access, or public catalogue stations available
  • Standard social distancing and safety protocols followed

Brandon Downtown:

Hours of operation: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (Phones and email monitored on Mondays and Fridays as well.)

Services provided:

  • Browsing the collection and checking out materials
  • Picking up items on hold
  • Returning borrowed items
  • Registering for a library account, or receiving assistance with an existing account
  • Receiving assistance with eResources (eg. Libby, Hoopla, etc.)
  • Contactless Book Delivery

Restrictions:

  • Limited number of people allowed in the space
  • No public seating, public computer access, or public catalogue stations available
  • Please keep visits brief
  • Standard social distancing and safety protocols followed

Carberry Library

Hours of operation: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Services provided:

  • Browsing the collection and checking out materials
  • Picking up items on hold
  • Returning borrowed items
  • Registering for a library account, or receiving assistance with an existing account
  • Receiving assistance with eResources (eg. Libby, Hoopla, etc.)
  • Contactless Book Pick-up

Restrictions:

  • Limited number of people allowed in the library
  • No public seating or washrooms, public computer access. or public catalogue stations available
  • Please keep visits brief; one member per family if possible
  • Standard social distancing and safety protocols followed

Glenboro Library

Re-Opening date: July 2

Hours of operation: Tuesday to Friday, 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm 

Services provided:

  • Contactless Pick-up and Delivery of requested items (available until June 30)
  • Returning borrowed items in book drop
  • Registering for a library account, or receiving assistance with an existing account via telephone or email
  • Receiving assistance with eResources (eg. Libby, Hoopla, etc.) via telephone or email

Hartney Library 

Hours of operation: Tuesday to Friday, 1:00 to 5:00 pm. 

Services provided:

  • Browsing the collection and checking out materials
  • Picking up items on hold

  • Receiving assistance with eResources (eg. Libby, Hoopla, etc.)
  • Contactless Book Pick-up

Restrictions:

  • Limited number of people allowed in the library
  • No public computer access
  • Please keep visits brief; one member per family if possible
  • Standard social distancing and safety protocols followed
