WMRL Public Health Order Update

WMRL Branches remain Mask-Recommended Spaces

March 15th, 2022

As of March 15th, 2022, the Manitoba Government is changing the Public Health Order to state that masks are no longer mandatory in indoor public spaces.

In recognition of the ongoing health concerns still presented by COVID 19 and variants, please note that all WMRL branches will be mask recommended spaces until Manitoba’s Pandemic Response System is no longer in effect.

If you see patrons and library staff continuing to wear a mask or choosing not to wear a mask, we ask that you be respectful. Any harassment or intimidation of patrons and staff on this subject will not be tolerated.

Physical distancing and wearing masks properly have proven to be effective at reducing the spread of colds, flus, and other contagious respiratory infections and diseases. As such, you will still see distancing measures, Plexiglas shields on desks, and hand sanitizer stations in WMRL branches.

If you are exhibiting excessive symptoms linked to COVID 19 you may be asked to leave the library for the safety of staff and patrons. Please do not enter the library if you are feeling unwell or have recently tested positive for COVID 19.

For our patrons that are still taking precautions for their wellbeing, you can arrange for contactless pickup or book deliveries by contacting your nearest local branch.
