July 14, 2021
All branches of the Western Manitoba Regional will reopen to the public on Monday July 19.
The updated public health orders allow libraries to open to 50% capacity or a maximum of 150 persons.
All branches are currently staffed throughout our closure. We are happy to assist you with curbside pickups and deliveries, navigating our eResources, or with any and all other inquiries you might have. Please see the information about Contactless Pick up and Deliveries here.
For specific inquiries about your local branch, please email us at info@nullwmrl.ca, or contact your local branch.
All branches of the WMRL continue to offer either Contactless Delivery, Curbside Pickup, or both. Please contact your local branch to inquire about these services, or email info@nullwmrl.ca. Specific contact information for each of our branches is here.
Below are some answers to frequently asked questions about your library during COVID-19:
Book Returns:
All of our Book Returns will remain open during our closure, and library materials will continue to be due for return. However, we are NOT CHARGING LATE FINES. You will only be charged for overdue materials once they have been overdue for so long that our system marks them as LOST. To renew a book, please phone or email your local branch, or renew it on your online account.
Library Card Expiry Dates:
If your library card has expired and you cannot access online resources, please call the main Brandon number at 204-727-6648 and leave a message with your name, telephone number, and library card number and we will renew your card for you as soon as possible. For more immediate assistance, email this information to info@nullwmrl.ca.
We will continue to renew non-resident memberships for people who live outside of our service area by taking payment information over the phone. Please note that we have reduced our Non-Resident fees to $50 for an annual membership, or $15 for a three-month membership!
For more immediate assistance, email this information to info@nullwmrl.ca.
Library Card Registration:
To sign up for a card, please do it remotely! Simply email your name, phone number, and mailing address to info@nullwmrl.ca or phone us at 204-727-6648. We will continue to renew non-resident memberships for people who live outside of our service area by taking payment information over the phone. Please note that we have reduced our Non-Resident fees to $50 for an annual membership, or $15 for a three-month membership!
Online eResources access:
Your library card provides access to a number of electronic resources, including ebooks, audiobooks, magazines and movies. Follow this link to the eResources page to sign up for any of these digital services.
To set up an account:
· Select your library: Western Manitoba Regional Library;
· Enter the entire 14 digit number on the back of your library card;
· Enter your PIN (the last four (4) digits of your telephone number on file).
· Hoopla will also require an email address to set up an account.
If you have difficulty setting up any of these resources or you are unsure if your PIN is on file, please email info@nullwmrl.ca for assistance, or call the main number in Brandon at 204-727-6648 or your local branch.
Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Danielle Hubbard
Director of Library Services
