Event Details

At a Death Cafe, people gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. Our objective is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives. A Death Cafe is a facilitated discussion group, not a grief support or counselling session. There is no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action. The Death Cafe model was developed by Jon Underwood and Sue Barsky Reid, based on the ideas of Bernard Crettaz. Death Cafes now occur worldwide. Please register ahead of time at the Adult Services Desk, or by phoning 204-727-6648. For more information about Death Cafe at the Brandon Public Library, email Danielle@wmrl.ca. For more information about Death Cafes generally, please visit deathcafe.com.
