Speaker Series: BU Ideas at the Brandon Public Library

Speaker Series: BU Ideas at the Brandon Public Library

  Friday September 6, 2019

The Brandon Public Library and Brandon University are excited to partner on a public speaker series that will bring academic research into the community. Once a month, members of BU’s faculty will present their research to a public audience at the Brandon Public Library. The Speaker Series aims to bridge the gap between “town and gown” by providing the public with engaging learning opportunities, while also providing faculty a wider audience for their work. This series will be catered by local restaurants, showcasing Brandon’s downtown culinary scene, and wine pairings will be available.
Dates for the fall session of this program are September 19, October 24, and November 21. September’s event features Doug Ramsey and Chris Malcolm presenting on “The Importance of Museums to Communities and Rural Tourism in Southwestern Manitoba” with catering from Chez Angela Bakery and Café.
