The Western Manitoba Regional Library (WMRL) has a staff of 30 individuals in its five branches.  Positions include Librarian, Administrative Assistant, Branch Supervisor, Library Assistant and Student Assistant.  When we are looking for individuals to join our staff, vacant positions will be posted here and they may also be advertised in external print and online resources.

JOB NOTICE

LIBRARY ASSISTANT – BRANDON PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Western Manitoba Regional Library is currently seeing an individual to fill a Library Assistant position at its main branch, the Brandon Public Library.  Duties will include general circulation and patron assistance duties, creation of library displays and assisting with programming as required.  Three days per week on an alternating schedule of Monday/Tuesday/Saturday and Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday for a total of 21 hours per week.  There will be an opportunity to pick up additional shifts to cover for other staff members in instances of illness or absence.

Applicants must have a minimum of Grade 12, effective people and communication skills, basic computer and internet skills, creative/artistic abilities, be attentive to detail, thorough and accurate work habits and have the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

STUDENT ASSISTANT – BRANDON PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Western Manitoba Regional Library is currently seeing an individual to fill a Student Assistant position at the Brandon Public Library.  Duties will include general circulation and patron assistance duties, mail drops, and assisting with programming as required.  Shifts include Monday evenings from 6:00-9:00, Tuesdays after school from 4:30-6:00 and alternating Saturdays from 10:00-6:00.  There will be an opportunity to pick up additional shifts to cover for other staff members in instances of illness or absence.

Applicants must be full-time students, have effective people and communication skills, basic computer and internet skills, be attentive to detail,  and have the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
