The Western Manitoba Regional Library (WMRL) has a staff of 30 individuals in its six branches. Positions include Director of Library Services, Assistant  Librarian, Administrative Assistant, Branch Supervisor, Library Assistant and Student Assistant.  When we are looking for individuals to join our staff, vacant positions will be posted here and they may also be advertised in external print and online resources.

Library Assistant II (Term) - Neepawa Library

The Western Manitoba Regional Library is seeking an individual to fill the role of Library Assistant II in the Neepawa Public Library. The successful applicant will plan and deliver programs for children and youth, plan and set up displays and perform customer service and patron registration functions.

This is a TERM six-month part-time position with the requirement to occasionally work alone.


19.5 hours per week:

  • Wednesday: 10:00 – 5:30 pm
  • Thursday: 10:00 – 5:30 pm
  • Friday: 10:00 – 5:30 pm

NOTE: Days worked are flexible and can be discussed with potential hirees.


  • Minimum of Grade 12
  • Strong people and communication skills
  • Experience creating and delivering programs for children and youth
  • Computer knowledge and proficiency using the Internet; graphic design skills an asset
  • Attentive to detail
  • Thorough and accurate work habits
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team


  • As per current Collective Agreement


  • General circulation and patron assistance duties
  • Assist with the creation of in-library displays
  • Assist with adult programming as required
  • Assist with outreach services as required
