Then…
The Grassland Library owes its existence largely to the efforts of one very dedicated citizen. Brenda Hicks made it her mission to engage the community in a project to establish a library in the town of Hartney. The community responded wholeheartedly with support and generosity. research, enrolment of volunteers and petition led to the establishment of the Hartney Cameron Branch of the Western Manitoba Regional Library in 2006. Following the amalgamation of Hartney, Cameron and Whitewater in 2015, the branch’s name was changed to the Grassland Library to reflect its newly expanded service area. Membership is free to all Grassland residents.
And now…
Explore the shelves or borrow from any of the other libraries within the region. Find something fascinating, from books and e-books to newspapers, magazines, movies, puzzles, games and more.
Relax in the comfortable space. Bring family and friends. Have a coffee. Book the meeting room. Surf the web.
Take in a local art display, a guest speaker or a special event. Join the adult or teen Book Club, Story Time, quilting or art classes. Volunteer. Share ideas. Enjoy your library!
