Carberry/North Cypress Library is a community hub of information and creativity. Patrons can use the internet and access other forms of information media. The library is also able to place special orders for books, research material(s), DVDs, audio books, etc. from other libraries around the province. Children enjoy story and craft times at the library. Artists and craftspeople can display their work to the community, there is also space for programs for children as well as adult, meetings, research and space for proctored exams to be written for school, college or university courses and other educational projects. The library also hosts special events such as author readings and meet the artist.
The library has under gone many changes over the years, from joining the Western Manitoba Regional Library system to a structural addition added in the summer of 1990, program changes as well as changes in staff. But the one thing that has not changed is the welcoming and relaxed feeling of the library’s atmosphere. The staff is pleasant and willing to help patrons with their questions, selections and requests.
The library is housed in the former Canada Post Building (1938) with an addition being added in 2007. The building that houses the Library became a designated heritage site on June 12th, 2007.
