Labour Day Weekend

Join other writers at the Brandon Public Library to hone your creative writing skills. Weeks alternate between writing and reading, so you get plenty of writing done as well as feedback. Participants can write anything they wish (short stories, poems, memoirs, articles, etc.) or follow a new prompt for each round. This is the program for you if you’d like to write and might benefit from the solidarity of peers. All skill levels are welcome. There’s no cost to attend. Storytime is designed to encourage a love of learning, books and the library. We'll learn new songs, practice rhymes and find fantastic books. There will be time for playing, crafting and laughter.

Designed for children 18 months - 5 years old and their parent/caregiver.

This walking tour will delve into the more grisly pieces of our past: epidemics, murders, deadly accidents, and other shocking stories from the “good” old days of the Wheat City.
