Paige’s Author Spotlight

Paige’s Author Spotlight

  Monday November 29, 2021

For this week’s author spotlight, I’m going to be focusing on one particular series that this author wrote.

Heather Morris is an Australian author who writes historical fiction as well as non-fiction, all based around World War II. Her Tattooist of Auschwitz series consists of three novels, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, Cilka’s Journey and Three Sisters. They are all based on real people living during the Holocaust and their time in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Like any books during the War, these novels are hard because of the horrible atrocities that many people faced during that time in history. Don’t let that deter you though because these books are also about love, courage, strength and hope. Knowing that I was reading about the experiences of real-life people enhanced my enjoyment of the novels. I was captivated throughout and they stayed with me well after I finished reading them. What I loved about each of these novels too was the Author’s Note at the end. Heather gave even more insight into the people she wrote about and it was truly fascinating. While I highly recommend reading the series in order, my personal favourite is Three Sisters. Whether you read historical fiction or not, these books are certainly worth it!

Heather Morris’s books are available as physical copies, ebooks and audiobooks on both Libby and Hoopla. To view her collection, search her name through the Catalogue on our website.
