Tablets for Seniors

Tablets for Seniors

  Tuesday February 16, 2021

The Brandon Public Library is pleased to now offer tablet computers for seniors who want to read e-books or listen to e-audio books from home. These tablets can be borrowed for up to 8 weeks at a time. Library staff can pre-load the tablets with books of the patron’s choosing ahead of time to assist with ease of use. Directions for accessing pre-loaded e-books and e-audio books will be included with each tablet.

Patrons must hold a valid Library membership in order to borrow these tablets and an overdue fee of $5 per day will apply to individual borrowers if the tablets are not returned by their due date.

The Library would like to thank and acknowledge Brandon Area Community Foundation as well as the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund for funding that allowed the Library to purchase tablets for this purpose.

Strengthen your mind and memory by engaging with a great selection of e-books and e-audio books at no cost to you and from the comfort and safety of your home. For those who are homebound, delivery of tablets may be an option, provided that you live within Brandon city limits. Accommodations can also be made to send multiple tablets to local care homes and retirement communities upon request.

To request to borrow a tablet, please email programs@nullwmrl.ca or call the Library at 204-727-6648 ext. 9 and speak to Louise.
