WMRL Presents Virtual KAIROS Blanket Exercise
Thursday April 8, 2021
The WMRL is excited to share about this special event! The Library will be hosting a virtual version of KAIROS Blanket Exercise on Saturday, May 8 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm over Zoom.
Developed in collaboration with Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and educators, KAIROS Blanket Exercise is an experiential and educational teaching tool that explores the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in the land we now know as Canada. An Indigenous-led team of facilitators will work through a script that covers pre-contact, treaty-making, colonization, resistance, and much more. The exercise concludes with a talking circle, during which participants discuss the learning experience and deepen their understanding.
This event is open to those aged 18+. It will be held virtually over Zoom and registration is required ahead of time. To secure a spot, please email programs@nullwmrl.ca. There is no cost to attend.
