WMRL Tablets for Loan

The WMRL has tablets for loan for a number of different purposes at two of our locations!

In Brandon, patrons can borrow the following:

Coding Kits for Youth

These take-home kits are available for free from either Brandon Public Library location and include an iPad, wireless keyboard and mouse, and instructions for coding activities with varying levels of difficulty.

Coding Kits were made possible thanks to funding provided by the Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation. Thank you to the BNRC for their support!

Tablets for e-books and audiobooks

Samsung Tablets are available at no cost to patrons who want to read e-books or listen to e-audio books from home. Library staff can pre-load the tablets with books of the patron’s choosing ahead of time to assist with ease of use. Directions for accessing pre-loaded e-books and e-audio books will be included with each tablet.

The Library would like to thank and acknowledge Brandon Area Community Foundation as well as the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund for funding that allowed the Library to purchase these tablets.

In Carberry, patrons may request iPads for the following:

iPads are available for borrowing from the Carberry Library for a variety of uses and for patrons of all ages. iPads can be used for browsing the internet, Facetime, texting, and utilizing Library eResources. For patrons who are interested in reading e-books or listening to e-audiobooks, Library staff can preload these to assist with ease of use. iPads may also be available for use as coding kits in the future.

Grant funding from the Emergency Community Support Fund via the Carberry and Area Community Foundation made the purchase of these iPads possible and the Library would like to acknowledge this support.

To borrow a tablet from the WMRL, you must hold a valid Library card and sign a waiver agreeing to be held responsible for lost or damaged equipment.
