How to Find Books in our Catalogue

  Thursday November 26, 2020

From any page on our website, click on the Catalogue tab at the top then click “Launch Enterprise Information Portal.” This takes you to our online catalogue where you can search by author, title, or subject. There is a tab beside the house icon that says “Everything” and if you click on this you can limit your search to a specific collection such as “Children’s Picture Books.” When you find a title of interest, click on the cover image for more details. To see what is currently available in your local branch, look for items that show “your branch” under Location as well as “Checked In” under Status (you can also place holds on items that are in other locations or are checked out, just be aware that it will take longer for them to become available).

You can then place Holds on the items you want by clicking the red “Place Hold” button. It will ask you to log-in by entering your Library card number (14 digits found on the back of your card underneath the barcode – enter this without any spaces) and PIN number (this is usually set to the last 4 digits of the phone number we have on file for you). If you don’t know your PIN or it won’t let you log in, contact your local branch for assistance. Once you are logged in, a pop-up will appear that has a red “Place Hold” button. Click on this and your request will be placed.

Once we pull your requests and have them ready we will get in touch as soon as possible to arrange pick-up at the library. Deliveries within city/town limits can be arranged for those who cannot pick up their books, in those locations where it’s possible.

For more information or help with placing requests, contact your local branch or send an email to info@nullwmrl.ca or call 204-727-6648.
