It sounds cliche, but it’s true. Look at any book on your shelf and you can imagine the setting in your mind’s eye. It’s not just about escaping our pandemic world to someplace different, but it’s also about learning more about other places and the stories of the people who make that place come to life.

And, we don’t mean just the immigrant stories of hope like in Stepping Stones but also historical fiction such as Bird’s Eye View which is set in the UK as well as Canada.

Books are more than entertainment and a way to pass the time, but we have an opportunity to go somewhere new when we read books and other people’s stories.
